Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi had talks with the World Bank's Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Hafez Ghanem, on the sidelines of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The Yemeni news agency reported Wednesday that the two sides discussed the current situation in Yemen and the heavy economic losses incurred by the country following the coup by Houthis and former president Abdullah Salah.
During the meeting, the WB official expressed the World Bank's support of steps taken to maintain stability in the country.
The World Bank is an effective partner to Yemen through a number of programs that aim at creating jobs and boosting the development process, Ghanem said.
