
German Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière will start a two-day official visit to Cairo on Wednesday for talks with his Egyptian counterpart Magedy Abdel-Ghafar on security cooperation.
The bilateral talks will tackle means of boosting joint cooperation in security, fighting terrorism, airports security as well as immigration, a statement by the German embassy in Cairo indicated.
The two sides are set to ink a security cooperation protocol between Egypt and Germany, it added.
Besides meeting with Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed Al Tayeb, De Maizière will give a speech on religious tolerance at Grand Imam of Al-Azhar University.
