Clashes between military council and ISIS in Raqqa

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the “Islamic State” organization targeted Harabesh neighborhood which is within the besieged areas in the southeastern part of Deir Ezzor city and connected to the Deir Ezzor airbase, which includes the neighborhoods of Harabesh, Tahtouh and large parts of the Al-Resafa neighborhood and Deir Ezzor airbase, which caused the death and injury of tens of people.

In the same context, International Coalition warplanes targeted Markada town, which is controlled by the “Islamic State” organization in the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah city by a number of strikes, and reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that these strikes come as a start of the aerial bombing by the International Coalition on areas controlled by ISIS in the south of Al-Hasakah province, preparing for the military operation which is expected to start in the next days, which will be led by Deir Ezzor Military Council.

Reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on the 25th of August 2017 that coordination took place with Deir Ezzor Military Council in order to start simultaneous military operations, in which Deir Ezzor Military Council from the north-western countryside of Deir Ezzor, and from the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah will start these operations towards the north of Deir Ezzor, and the sources confirmed that this division in the scope of operations came according to the clans’ concentrations in the area, in which Deir Ezzor Military Council with its allied forces will start from areas where the sons of the clan fighters of Deir Ezzor Military Council are concentrated.

On the other hand, tension prevailed Homs city, accompanied by escalated popular discontent from the security chaos situation in the neighborhoods of the city which is controlled by the regime forces, accompanied by assaults, beatings and killing by unknown gunmen against members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them inside the city.
