Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erodgan said even though Turkey was known as a country that had turned its face to the West, it had not turned its back to the East and/or South, and would never do so. "As we have done for 600 years, we see Arab nations as our brothers, friends and neighbors," Erdogan said during Turkish-Arab Tourism Meeting in the northwestern province of Bursa. Erdogan expressed belief that distance, borders, obstacles and barriers put between Turks and Arabs for the last century were just virtual. "Therefore, our government has established a different type of communication and cooperation with our old friends and brothers in the last nine and a half years," Erdogan also said.
