EU to adopt new Syria sanctions on Monday

The European Union will adopt new sanctions against Syria on Monday, France's Foreign Ministry said on Friday. “In the spirit of the Paris [Friends of Syria] conference, sanctions will also be adopted,” Reuters quoted spokesman Bernard Valero as saying. The move will be taken as bloodshed continues in Syria despite an official ceasefire.
