
Moroccan king Mohammed VI held talks with the French president, Francois Hollande in Paris, where they confirmed the depth of the relation between the two countries.
Sources of the Elysee Palace said that, the talks were of political and cultural dimensions, and the meeting lasted for 20 minutes before they had lunch in the presidential palace in the presence of some intellectuals such as, writers Laila Sulaimani and Tahir Benjloun, Political science researcher Rashid bin al-Zain, comedian Gamal El Dabwz and Japanese wrestling champion Teddy Rainer.
A Statement of the Royal Court stated that, King Mohammed VI was received in the Elysee Palace on the occasion of a luncheon attended by members of both governments, friends of Morocco and France, and civil society members, as evidence to the strong and diverse relations between the two countries.
The statement said that, the two leaders confirmed that the mutual respectful personal relations are the basis of renewing the French-Moroccan partnership in security, development, culture, and education fields. It also said that, the two leaders are confident of this unique relation that surpasses any political agendas.
Francois Hollande Congratulated King Mohammed VI on Morocco’s return to the African Union, praising Morocco’s strong initiatives for the continent. On the other hand, King Mohammed thanked Hollande for his personal commitment for this relation between the two countries.
Moroccan King Mohammed VI was the first president received by Francois Hollande following his election as President of France on May 24, 2012. This visit came at the end of Hollande’s term as the French president.
