The United Nations General Assembly Fourth Committee has adopted by an overwhelming majority eight draft resolutions on Palestine . The committee approved late Thursday drafts by items related to the work of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and the Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices Affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian People and other the Arab occupied territories. The committee approved draft resolutions on work and operations of the UNRWA ,relating to the provision of the assistance to the Palestinian refugees and the displaced as a result of fighting that erupted in June 1967 in addition to Palestine refugees' properties and their revenues . Drafts relating to the item of the Special Committee to investigate Israeli practices reaffirmed that Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, including East Jerusalem, are illegal and demanded Israel to comply with its obligations under the international law and the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in 2004 and the United Nations resolutions. The drafts reaffirmed the applicability of the Fourth Geneva Convention to the Occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem. Source: QNA
