3 people injured in Moscow underground

Three people got injured in a short circuit in the Moscow underground on Sunday, sources at Moscow’s law enforcement authorities said. “Three people were taken to hospital, as they got poisoned with combustion products,” the source said. On Sunday morning, in the tunnel between stations Vykhino and Ryazansky Prospect a short circuit happened, which caused smoke. The disorder has been eliminated. Russia’s EMERCOM confirmed the reason of the interruption in service at the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Line was a short circuit. “The short circuit cut electricity between stations Vykhino and Ryazansky Prospect,” EMERCOM’s information department said. Earlier, Head of EMERCOM’s Press Service Viktor Biryukov said 300 people had been evacuated from Vykhino station as the trains stopped there. “Luckily, the trains in both directions stopped as they were on the ground, at the open part of the route, closer to Vykhino stations,” he said. “Thus, the evacuation was prompt.” Maintenance teams continue repairing works.
