Chairman of the Levant Scholars' Union, Dr.Mohammad Said Ramadan al-Bouti said there are 'wayward people' committing crimes in Syria, contrary to the will of God. In his Friday sermon at the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus, al-Bouti called upon those to get back to the right path and give up their heinous acts, reminding them of the retribution promised them by God. He described their acts as an 'open war on Allah,'' praying to God to purify the country of the evil-doers who seek to wreak havoc in the homeland.
