Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Abul Gheit congratulated on Wednesday US President-elect Donald Trump for his win of the elections and being the 45th president of the United States.
Abul Gheit sent a cable of congratulations in which he highlighted the historic, deeply-rooted and friendly relations binding many Arab countries and the United States of America.
In his cable, the Arab diplomat referred to problems and crises of the Arab world, adding that without a lasting and just solution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict the region would continue to witness more problems.
A statement by the Arab league said that Abul Gheit hoped that the new US administration would engage more actively in the Middle East to work on the stability, growth and prosperity of the region.
