Former Afghan MP gunned down

A former member of the Afghan Parliament was gunned down Friday in separate incidents, officials said. Police said they were trying to identify the gunman who killed Ahmad Khan Mohammadi in Faryab province Friday afternoon, Khaama Press reported. A spokesman for the provincial governor said the killing occurred as Khan came out of Friday prayers in a mosque. No group, including the Taliban, has claimed responsibility for the shooting.
