French FM to visit Lebanon next week

France’s Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius will visit Lebanon next week as part of a regional tour to areas with high numbers of Syrian refugees. Fabius is set to travel to Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey during a two-day tour starting Wednesday, the National News Agency reported. Vincent Floreani, a spokesperson for the ministry said the visit would be “an opportunity for the minister to stress our country’s support to Syrian refugees” and to stress France’s support for these countries’ efforts in welcoming refugees. Fabius’ trip to Lebanon will follow a visit by Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird, who arrived Friday for talks with Lebanese officials. (daily star)
