After meeting in Makkah Al Mukarramah last week to attend the extraordinary islamic solidarity summit , Turkish President Abdallah Gul accepted his Egyptian counterpart Mohamed Morsi’s invitation to visit Egypt next December, reported the egyptian semi-official Middle East News Agency (MENA) Thursday. According to a statement released by the Turkish embassy in Cairo, Gul accepted the invitation when he met with Morsi in Mecca last week at the summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. Gul’s last visit to Egypt was in March 2011. There is an ongoing debate amongst commentators regarding whether the Turkish system is a suitable model for Egypt as ot forges its post-Mubarak future.
