Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi returned home early Wednesday morning after a one-day visit to Somalia and meeting with its senior officials. Upon his arrival, Salehi told reporters that Somali President will visit Tehran in near future, adding that details of continuation of Iran’s aids to Somalia would be discussed in that trip, Iran’s news agency (IRNA) reported. He praised efforts of Iran’s Red Crescent Society (IRCS) in sending humanitarian aids to Somalia and added that 35 thousand people are now covered by IRCS. During his one-day visit to Somalia, Salehi met and discussed issues of mutual interest with Somali Premier and Interior Minister; he also was briefed about ways of delivering aids to famine stricken people of Somalia.
