Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramim Mehmanparast expressed his hope that Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi and those whom he called, the leaders of Independent States, will not be influenced by the overtones of biased countries to prevent their participation in the Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). He told reporters Tuesday that the Iranian president’s executive assistant Hamid Baqai have presented the official invitation, to president Morsi, in a positive and friendly atmosphere, and have held fruitful meetings with Egypt’s President and Prime Minister Dr. Hisham Qandil . Mehmanparast noted that the Headquarter of NAM is decided to be moved from Egypt to Iran and that Cairo, being the former Chair of NAM, is expected to have high-level representation in Tehran Summit.
