The Iraqi government on Sunday condemned the fatal bombings a day ago at a Turkish border town near Syria and called for regional cooperation against terrorism. "The Iraqi government expresses its vehement condemnation to the criminal bombings that occurred in the Turkish town of Reyhanli," said a statement issued by Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al- Maliki's office. The statement came a day after deadly car bombings in the town of Reyhanli near the Turkish-Syrian border, which killed at least 45 people and injured over 100. "The committing of such crimes and the widening circle of terrorism makes a further stimulus to the need for cooperation and coordination of all countries, particularly the countries of the region, to root out terrorism and extremism in all its forms," the statement added. Turkey has blamed the administration of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad for the attacks, while Damascus on Sunday denied such accusations.
