Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, on Sunday condemned the arrest of the speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council by Zionist regime's forces. Israeli forces had arrested the speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, Aziz Dweik at a military checkpoint in Juba, which is located between Ramallah and Beit-ul-Moqaddas as he was traveling to al-Khalil in the southern West Bank. Ihsanoglu said that Dweik's arrest is utter violation of international law as part of Israel's atrocities against the Palestinian nation. Tafesh Dweib, a Palestinian lawmaker, was also arrested at his home in Bethlehem by Zionist soldiers on Thursday. According to human rights groups, 25 members of the Palestinian Legislative Council are currently being held in Israeli prisons without charge or trial.
