Palestinian Committee of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) called on Israel to lift the embargoes on Palestine as well as international community to recognize Palestinian state. The final declaration released after the first meeting of the committee, which took place in Istanbul on Saturday, said that the committee strongly condemned the attack of Israel on humanitarian aid ship Mavi Marmara, and said Israel should fulfill its responsibilities towards Turkey within the scope of international laws. The declaration stressed Jerusalem was the center of Palestinian problem and Arab-Israeli conflict, called on international community to make pressure on Israel about Jerusalem problem, and to fulfill international resolutions. Calling for the international recognition of Palestinian state, the declaration welcomed Palestinian leader's application for UN full membership. The declaration also said that Israeli embargo on air, land and sea caused poverty, unemployment and bad health conditions in Palestine, and it was illegal.
