The Palestinian cabinet condemned during its weekly meeting on Wednesday Israeli schemes targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque, one of Islam’s holiest sites, whether through digging underneath it or through daily provocative tours by Israeli soldiers in uniform and hard-line settlers, according to a press release issued by Prime Minister Salam Fayyad’s office. The cabinet specifically condemned calls by extremist Israelis to destroy the mosque and to allow Jews only to pray in it on certain times while closing it to Muslims, according to a report of Palestine News and Information Agency “WAFA”. It warned that such intentional incitement campaigns by various Israeli officials against the Mosque and its worshipers might lead to a disaster.
