President Abdo Rabu Mansour Hadi received here on Tuesday Managing Director for North Africa, Middle East, Arabian Peninsula, Iran and Iraq at the European External Action Service (EEAS), Mingarelli Hughes. President Hadi welcomed Hughes and discussed with him several issues related to the political settlement process based on the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism as well as the Security Council's resolutions 2014, 2051. He expressed his pleasure for his visit which is a new push in the path of supporting Yemen to overcome its bad circumstances, reviewing the overall procedures and decisions that have been achieved in accordance with the requirements of the settlement. The President also pointed out that the first phase of the Gulf initiative terms and its mechanism has been successfully completed and the Yemeni people have overcome many challenges. He made reference to the ongoing National Dialogue Conference (NDC) that is being held in order to come out with a comprehensive vision on the basis of good governance and the inclusion of the distribution of wealth and power at the level of the whole country without acquisitions or exclusion. Hadi expressed his deep appreciation for support exerted by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), topped with the Saudi King, King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, as well as the five member states at the Security Council and the countries of the European Union (EU). For his part, the EEAS official expressed his gladness over this visit, noting that many things have been attained in Yemen at the humanitarian and practical different levels such as the Sothern issue and issue of Saada as well. He also noted to the courage steps of President Hadi presented in his efforts to end the country's crisis, asserting the EU concerns on what is going on in Yemen within the framework of the implementation of the political settlement based on the Gulf initiative and the UN Security Council's resolutions No. 2014 and 2051.
