The alternative to the National Dialogue is civil strife and the presence of the current government is better than nothing, Progressive Socialist Party official Khaled Saab said. Speaking on behalf of PSP leader Walid Jumblatt at an iftar banquet in Khaldeh Friday, Saab said that the presence of the government of Prime Minister Najib Mikati is better than no government at all. “The Dialogue table is a national necessity because the alternative is civil strife, chaos and a political vacuum,” said Saab. The iftar banquet hosted by Jumblatt at Haroun Rashid Restaurant was attended by religious and political figures including Amal Movement officials from the area. Saab also said that electoral law based on proportional representation cannot be approved without administrative decentralization and an end to political sectarianism. From / Daily Star
