Israeli Jews believe, by a 2-to-1 margin, that Mitt Romney is more concerned about Israel's interests than Barack Obama, a poll released Thursday indicated. The survey, conducted Aug. 7-8 by the Dahaf Institute and commissioned by the Israeli Democracy Institute and Tel Aviv University, asked 516 Israeli Jews which American presidential contender "assigns more importance to defending Israeli national interests." Romney was named by 40 percent of the respondents, 19 percent named Obama, and the rest answered "both to the same extent," "don't know" or "neither," The Jerusalem Post reported Friday. The poll had a 4.5 percentage point margin of error.
