Iran's Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Salehi said Iran is ready to take part in the international conference on Syria proposed by Russia and the US, considering that it might jump-start dialogue between the Syrian government and opposition. In an interview with the German weekly magazine 'Der Spiegel', Salehi said ''We have not received an invitation yet, but sure we will attend, and we might launch negotiations between the government and opposition in Syria.'' Salehi expressed his country's firm opposition to the use of weapons of mass destruction in any country, adding ''Tehran firmly opposes the use of any kind of weapons of mass destruction.''
