President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed Tuesday that there are no refugee camps in Egypt, pointing out that refugees who came to Egypt are living normally among the Egyptians without any kind of discrimination.
Answering a question about illegal immigration following a lecture he gave at the Portuguese Military Academy, President Sisi said Egypt has not received any international assistance to face the refugees crisis and reduce burdens of their presence in the country.
Refugees who left their homeland seek security and hope, he said, asserting the need to provide security and stability and creating hope in their nations. Failing to do so would lead to escalating the refugees crisis and increasing their influx into Europe, he added.
He expressed Egypt's readiness to promote cooperation with the Europeans to secure maritime borders to confront illegal migration. "We need joint efforts and support by major countries to confront illegal immigration," he pointed out.
