Syrian FM arrives in Tehran for talks

Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al- Moallem arrived in Tehran on Saturday for talks of mutual interest, Iran's Mehr news agency reported. Al-Moallem will meet his Iranian counterpart Ali-Akbar Salehi and other high-ranking officials, including Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Saeed Jalili, to discuss the latest bilateral and regional developments. Iran is the major regional ally of the Syrian government, which has been stuck in a conflict with the armed opposition groups for two years.
