UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is set to arrive in South Korea Saturday for a four-day visit. During the visit, the UN chief is scheduled to meet with lawmakers and government officials, including National Assembly Speaker Kang Chang-hee and Foreign Minister Kim Sung-hwan, to discuss opinions on expanding cooperation between South Korea and the UN. Ban will also make an appearance at the 2012 Yeosu International Conference to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the opening for signature of the UN convention on the Law of the Sea. He will also take part in the founding ceremony for Development Alliance Korea, according to Korea's (KBS World) website. Ban is expected to leave South Korea on the afternoon of August 14th after he takes part in an opening event for a global medical center by Seoul National University, which is dedicated to Lee Jong-wook, the sixth director-general of the World Health Organization. He will also attend the World Congress of Global Partnership for Young Women before his departure.
