An armed U.S. helicopter appears to have been shot down over Afghanistan Wednesday, killing both crew members, a U.S. military official said. CNN reported the Taliban claimed responsibility for the downing over Ghazni province. "It is likely that the helo today was brought down due to enemy small arms and RPG fire," the official said, CNN reported. The aircraft was a U.S. Army OH-58 Kiowa Warrior reconnaissance helicopter. An e-mail sent by Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahi said, "After the rocket hit it, the helicopter came down and took fire." The report gave no further details.
