Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoglu held a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State John Kerry late on Monday. Kerry called Davutoglu to make a situation assessment prior to his Russia visit, according to diplomatic sources. Davutoglu emphasized Turkey's response in regards to the massacre in the Syrian province of Banias and restated the necessity for the international society to "stop" the killings inSyria. Kerry told the recent developments inSyria were worrying and added that he would handle the issue in detail during his Russia visit. Davutoglu also spoke to Jordan's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh on the phone, Monday evening.
