U.S. Senator Dick Durbin visited Syrian citizens who are staying in a camp in Turkey's southeastern province of Kilis on Wednesday. Kilis Governor's Office stated that Durbin and an accompanying delegation held a meeting with Kilis Deputy Mayor Ahmet Kartepe, and were briefed about the condition of Syrians in the camp. Durbin also met Syrians in the camp and listened to their problems, and then visited social facilities, schools and day care center in the camp. Durbin expressed pleasure over the visit, and then departed from the city. 52 Syrians enter Turkey 52 Syrians, including 2 wounded ones, entered Turkey on Wednesday after fleeing from clashes in their country. Sources told the Anadolu Agency (AA) correspondent that, in the past 24 hours, 50 Syrians entered Turkey via the Kusakli village of southern town of Reyhanli. The 50 Syrians were sent to the southern provinces of Kilis and Gaziantep. Meanwhile, 2 Syrians wounded in the Syrian city of Idlib were brought to Bukulmez and Kusakli villages of Reyhanli town with the help of their relatives. They have been taken to the Reyhanli State Hospital by Turkish officials for treatment. 18 people were killed during the operations of Syrian army against opponents in several cities of the country on Wednesday. Syrian Human Watch Organization stated 18 people had been killed during the ongoing operations of Syrian army in Homs, Damascus, Idlib and Hama. The death toll reached 14,093 in Syria since the protests in the country began in March, 2011. A ceasefire plan, which was presented by UN-Arab League Special Envoy to Syria Kofi Annan to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on March 10 and accepted by him on March 27, came into effect on April 12. Assad's government has been accused of failing to abide by key terms of the truce plan, including pulling all forces from urban areas and allowing peaceful demonstrations.
