Advocate General Muhanna Al-Shayji said the Lower Criminal Court adjourned the case of a female defendant, accused of insulting a public employee and entering a banned place without authorisation to April 15 for hearing.
The defendant forced her way into the Reform and Rehabilitation Centre. Being a female, the male guardian failed to prevent her from doing so. Therefore, policewomen were summoned and demanded her to leave the place that can be accessed only on authorisation. However, the defendant insulted and abused them, as evidenced by the security cameras recording.
The incident was investigated by the Public Prosecution and the defendant was referred to the Lower Criminal Court on the afore-mentioned charges.
The case had been adjourned to February 18 as the defendant and her lawyer had failed to show up. The court today postponed the case to April and permitted the lawyer who turned up without the defendant to have a copy of the lawsuit at his request.
