Egyptian President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi on Sunday expressed appreciation to Arab Gulf states, including Kuwait, for their support of his country since the June 30, 2013 events.
In a televised speech, Al-Sisi stressed that attempts to cause discord between Egypt and Gulf states will go in vain.
He pointed out that support Cairo received from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates is "crucial to help Egypt counter all challenges", thanking the leaders of the three countries. The president also lauded backing from Jordan and Bahrain.
In the meantime, Al-Sisi underlined the dire need for a "unified Arab force" to counter challenges facing Arab countriess and the region.
Referring to recent strikes by the Egyptian army against the Libyan branch of ISIL, he said they targeted 13 sites "that had been accurately revised." On army and police operations in the Sinai, he deemed as "successful", Al-Sisi said they are seeking to restore full control on the Peninsula for later development.
