Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby on Sunday emphasized the prominent humanitarian role by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the Arab and global arenas.
Al-Araby made the remark during a meeting here today with Assistant Undersecretary of the Information Ministry for Media Planning and Knowledge Development Mohammad Al-Awash.
The Kuwaiti official is in Cairo to take part in the grand ceremony to be held by the Arab League to celebrate the UN honoring of His Highness the Amir as a "Humanitarian Leader" and Kuwait as a "Humanitarian Center." The League appreciates the humanitarian role by His Highness the Amir, both on the Arab and global levels, which is "a source of pride for all Arabs," Al-Araby said.
He also stressed His Highness the Amir's wisdom, "taking the right decisions on time" saying the UN honoring is unprecedented on the international level.
Al-Awash handed over the Arab League Chief a plaque on behalf of the Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah.
This comes in appreciation of the efforts by the Arab League Secretary General in organizing the ceremony for celebrating the global honoring of His Highness the Amir, Al-Awash told KUNA after his meeting with Al-Araby.
The ceremony will be held at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo on Monday.
