A consultative meeting for the Arab League Council kicked off here on Wednesday at the level of permanent delegates to discuss the latest developments in Yemen and the abhorrent crime of beheading 21 Egyptian Copts by Daesh militant group.
The meeting aims at extending a message of solidarity to Egypt in its efforts and measures to protect its homeland and national security.
It will also probe the current developments in Yemen, efforts exerted to end the political crisis in Yemen and support Yemeni President Abdel Rabou Mansour Hadi and his government.
The Arab League has vehemently supported the airstrikes launched by the Egyptian army against Daesh in Libya and announced its backing for any measures to be taken by Egypt in defense of its citizens, stability and security.
It also voiced keenness on the interests of the member states at both the national and regional levels.
