
One of two defendants, accused of arson attack on a car showroom and physically assaulting others, was sentenced today by the High Criminal Court to 15 years in jail and fined BD 383,525, Advocate General and Chief of the Terror Crime Prosecution Ahmed Al Hammadi said.
The two defendants, alongside 13 others sentenced on November 7, 2012, were charged with setting alight a car showroom and attacking the two guards.
The defendants, implicated in the twin attacks, were referred by the Public Prosecution to the High Criminal Court on charges of arson, attacking the physical integrity of others, rallying and possessing Molotov Cocktails for a terror purpose. Twelve defendants were sentenced to 15 years in jail and fined BD 383,525 and one was acquitted.
