The Yemeni authorities released Thursday 66 Egyptian fishermen, who have been detained since October 12 over illegal fishing in territorial waters.
The Egyptian embassy in Sanaa is finalizing the fishermen's release procedures in coordination with the Yemeni authorities to bring them back home as soon as possible, Ambassador Youssef el-Sharqawi told MENA correspondent here.
Sharqawi thanked the Yemeni foreign and fisheries ministries and the public funds prosecution in Al Hudaydah city for their efforts in ending the crisis.
He urged Egyptian fishermen to respect the Yemeni territorial waters and acquire a permit beforehand to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
