Secretary General of the Democratic Front for Liberation of Palestine Nayef Hawatmeh has expressed confidence that the new Saudi leadership will keep stick to the Arab Peace Initiative.
In an interview with MENA reporter in Amman, Hawatmeh asserted Egypt's pivotal role in the Arab world.
He said the Shiite control of conditions in Iraq affected stability in neighboring Arab countries.
He lauded the Saudi efforts to resolve the Palestinian cause, citing old initiatives by Riyadh before the Arab Peace Initiative.
Asked if there is "a Western scheme" to destabilize Arab countries to deviate attention from the Palestinian cause to these states' internal problems, Hawatmeh said the conspiracy theory is as deep as crises in the region.
But he asserted that what happened in some Arab countries were revolutions and revolts.
