Egypt's Ambassador in Sanaa Yousef el-Sharqawy has said he has contacted a number of Yemeni officials to secure the release of three Egyptian fishing boats, seized on October 12 in Yemen with scores of fishermen on board.
El-Sharqawy held meeting with Minister of Fisheries Wealth Awad al-Socotri to discuss the release of detained Egyptian fishermen.
During their meeting, the Egyptian diplomat suggested establishment of an Egyptian-Yemeni cooperation of fishing activities.
Al-Socotri welcomed the suggestions and vowed serious discussion with the Yemeni government.
