Egypt's Ambassador to Yemen Youssef el Sharqawi and the Egyptians embassy staff returned home on Monday due to worsening security situation in Yemen.
The Egyptian embassy in Yemen was closed after the departure of the staff.
The situation in Yemen is escalating after resigned Yemeni president Abd El Rabou Mansour Hadi broke the siege imposed by Houthis on his residence in Sanaa and fled in disguise for Aden.
