
Egyptian General Consul in Melbourne Khaled Rizq took part in a Mass held Sunday to mourn the martyrs killed in Libya by the terrorist Daesh group.
The Mass was held under the sponsorship of Bishop of the Coptic Church in Melbourne Anba Surial.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Foreign Ministry said that the mass was attended by some officials of the Australian government and representatives of some other Orthodox churches in Melbourne.
The ceremony began by performing prayers then participants gave speeches.
In his speech, Bishop Surial thanked the participants for attending the Mass and mourned the 21 Egyptian martyrs.
The Australian officials offered their heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and conveyed a message of solidarity to Egypt in its war against terrorism.
The general consul gave a speech in which he highlighted the increasing danger of terrorism, urging the international community to cooperate to combat it.
