GCC Secretary-General Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani rejected the statements made by Egypt's Permanent Representative to the Arab League accusing Qatar of supporting terrorism, describing them as false and baseless.
Al Zayani added that such accusations ignored the sincere efforts of the State of Qatar along with other GCC and Arab countries to combat terrorism and extremism at all levels, and its support for joint Arab action in all Arab and international forums and all that would preserve the interests of the Arab nation.
The GCC Secretary-General stressed that such statements do not help Arab solidarity consolidation at a time when the Arab countries face great challenges threatening its security and stability and sovereignty.
