The General Director of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science announced on Monday the arrest of a fugitive who told police that he hid a home-made bomb inside a toilet in a mosque in Muqsha village.
The bomb squad arrived at the scene to secure the area but the bomb exploded, causing damage to the mosque. The General Director said other materials were confiscated from the scene in the presence of an official from the Jaffari Endowment Directorate, in coordination with the Northern Governor.
Legal procedures were taken and the Public Prosecution was notified. The General Director reminded the public the importance of not exploiting places of worship and called for anyone in charge of such places to report any suspicious objects to police.
