Kuwait diplomats join training programme on human rights in Jordan

Some Kuwaiti diplomats took part here on Sunday in a training program co-organized by Kuwait's Foreign Ministry and International Organization for Migration (IOM) for regional and international cooperation against human trafficking.
In a statement to KUNA, Nasser Aba Al-Khail, deputy chief of the Foreign Ministry's standing committee on the development plan, said that it is the third training program organized by the ministry as part of its developmental project on promoting Kuwait's role in the field of human rights.
He said that the program is important for Kuwait's diplomats in the framework of developing their capabilities in human rights, lauding the IOM's efforts in this regard and Jordan's preparation for hosting this event.
The five-day program discusses topics on anti-human trafficking, and human rights and sheds light on relevant legislations, he said.
The Kuwaiti Embassy's Charge d'Affaires to Jordan Khaled Al-Zaabi told KUNA that the program establishes the approach of democracy and human rights, which has been adopted by the State of Kuwait since it was created.
The event reviews also the IOM' efforts in anti-human trafficking as well as national laws, international conventions and protocols that punish people who commit human trafficking.
