
Kuwait's embassies and consulates held ceremonies in a number of countries marking the nation's 54th National Day and 24th Liberation Day.
In Cairo, Kuwait's Ambassador Salem Al-Zamanan received a congratulatory message from President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the national events. Al-Sisi's representative Mohammad Najm handed Al-Zamanan the message.
In a statement to KUNA, Al-Zamanan said that Najm conveyed the congratulations of Al-Sisi to His Highness the Amir, wishing His Highness the Amir good health and Kuwait further progress and prosperity.
The ambassador said the congratulations reflect the depth of relations between the two countries.
In Istanbul, the Kuwaiti Consulate held a ceremony to mark the two national days with a wide official and popular participation.
Kuwait's General Consul Sheikh Fahad Salem Al-Sabah congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Premier Sheikh Jaber Al-Muabark Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Kuwaiti people on the nation's events.
On her part, Semra Ozal, wife of the late Turkish president Turgut Ozal, who was present in the celebration, congratulated the Kuwaiti leadership and people on their national occasions.
In Khartoum, a number of Sudanese ministers and senior officials attended a ceremony held by the Kuwaiti Embassy late on Tuesday to celebrate the national days.
Sudan's Minister for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed Saad Omer extended his congratulations to His Highness the Amir, government and people on the national celebrations.
Minister of Agriculture Ibrahim Mahmoud said that: "We and on behalf of President Omar Al-Bashir as well as the Sudanese government and people congratulate His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, government and people on the nation's events." Kuwaiti Ambassador Talal Mansour Al-Hajri conveyed these congratulations to His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince, His Highness the Premier and Kuwaiti people.
In Madrid, a number of Spanish officials and heads of Arab diplomatic missions took part in the Kuwaiti embassy's celebrations.
In a statement to KUNA on the sidelines of the ceremony held late on Tuesday, Kuwaiti Ambassador Sulaiman Al-Harbi said that this year's celebrations have a special taste as the UN honored His Highness the Amir as a Humanitarian Leader and Kuwait as a Humanitarian Center.
He said that Kuwait has a leading role in humanitarian action, lauding the development of relations between Kuwait and Spain.
He said the bilateral relations have developed over the past two years, especially in the fields of trade, tourism, health and education.
In Kuala Lumpur, Kuwait's Embassy in Thailand marked the national festivals in the presence of some representatives of the Thai government and senior officials at the Foreign Ministry. Kuwaiti Ambassador Abdullah Al-Sharhan told KUNA by telephone that he delivered a speech during the festival on the UN naming of His Highness the Amir as a Humanitarian Leader and Kuwait as a Humanitarian Center.
He extended his congratulations to His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince, His Highness the Premier and Kuwaiti people on these events. Kuwaiti Ambassador to Australia Khaled Al-Shaibani told KUNA by telephone that the embassy held a festival to mark the national events.
He noted he delivered a speech on this occasion, commending the relations between the two countries.
Al-Shaibani said a representative of the Australian Prime Minister congratulated Kuwait on these days, adding the representative voiced his country's keenness on upgrading the bilateral relations.
