
Forces loyal to Libya's internationally recognized government advanced Monday towards the centre of Benghazi, thecountry's second-largest city, local media reported.
The loyalist forces had surrounded members of the Libya Shield force in areas near the city's port, Libyan news siteAl-Wasat reported, quoting an unnamed government official.
An updated report late Monday said that a warship at the port hadbeen hit by shells and set ablaze, while at least 13 people had beenkilled in the clashes.
The Dubai-based al Arabiya quoting Libyan army officials said that 95per cent of the city was now under Libyan army control.
