
Nearly 9.5 quintals of cannabis resin have been seized Friday near the western borders of the country by a unit of the National Gendarmerie of Tlemcen.
Acting on information, a unit of Beni-Boussaid has seized 45 parcels of cannabis resin abandoned by drug traffickers near the western borders.
An investigation has been launched by the Gendarmerie of Tlemcen.
Over 95 tonnes of cannabis resin were seized by units of the National Gendarmerie, Customs and Border Guards during the past months along the border areas of the province of Tlemcen, said Thursday its Wali (governor) Saci Ahmed Abdelhafid.
This huge quantity of cannabis resin was seized owing to the vigilance and the mobilization of the different services.
