
Qatar's National Human Rights Committee(NHRC) has formed electoral committees, chaired by Dr. Mohammed Saif Al Kuwari, member of NHRC to raise awareness and education among citizens on Qatar's Central Municipal Council (CMC) elections.
The electoral commissions are designed to educate voters on the electoral process through seminars ,workshops at universities and various municipalities.
Dr. Al-kawari stressed the necessity that the committees should seek, as a national duty , to raise awareness of Qatari people on elections so as to deepen democratic behavior as a matter which would make the State of Qatar to go ahead into further democratic and political progress.
In a press statement, he said that these committees will raise awareness on the electoral process starting with registration , electoral campaigns, polling , counting votes and announcement of the results.
These electoral commissions will hold several seminars on raising awareness on electoral process at Qatar University , Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) and community college, cultural and sports clubs , civil society organizations and organizations of persons with disabilities ,he said.
