
Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation Iyad bin Madani has condemned Friday's terrorist attack on the Central Hotel in Mogadishu in which around 12 people were killed and scores injured.
In a press release today, the OIC Secretary-General described the incident as a criminal cowardly act that targeted worshippers, expressing in the meantime his condolences to families of the victims, the Somali government and people and wishing the injured early recovery.
Al-Madani renewed the OIC's full solidarity with the Somali government in the efforts it exerts to fight violent terrorism which contravenes the Islamic religion's values of grace and stressed the OIC's principal position rejecting terrorism in all its forms.
