Police arrested one of the culprits that caused a disruption in metro traffic on the first line early Thursday.
He was accused of stealing power cables of the underground and causing a malfunction in the power network that brought metro movement between El Sayyeda Zeinab and Dar El Sallam to a standstill.
His other colleague is still at large.
Head of the Metro Authority Ali Fadali has earlier said that metro traffic was fully suspended between the two stations and is going on normally on the others.
Technical experts are doing their utmost to repair the malfunction and resume underground traffic.
