The United Arab Emirates Computer Emergency Response Team, aeCERT, a subsidiary of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, TRA, will be present at the International Defence Exhibition and Conference, IDEX. aeCERT will exhibit this year by spreading awareness on the importance of social media surveillance systems.
aeCERT has previously exhibited at IDEX showcasing several response mechanisms for protecting the nation’s ICT infrastructure against some of the most sophisticated and potential cyber threats. This year, aeCERT is focusing on social media as it is a multi-versed platform for online communication, inviting potential threats to all users. Their technologies will assist with protecting and monitoring accounts from being hijacked, along with eliminating fabricated alerts and offering predictive analysis services.
"Participating in IDEX is a major incentive for aeCERT, as they showcase the significance of defending our nation’s cyber sphere. As we transform into a smart nation, it is imperative to keep in line with current trends, particularly those that belong within the always evolving social media platforms," said Adel Rashed Al Muhairi, aeCert director.
Among the key priorities of aeCERT is to ensure that all related entities are equipped with the knowledge necessary to optimise mechanisms that offer topline protection for the nation’s ICT infrastructure to mitigate any threats.
