
Works Affairs Undersecretary at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ahmed Al Khayyat visited Askar and Jaw, accompanied by representative to the Southern Governorate’s 8th Constituency MP Thiyab Al Noaimi, municipal council member and also representative to the Constituency Bader Al Tamimi and a number of engineers from the Ministry. The visit aimed to assess infrastructure needs in the two areas.
Al Tamimi requested the revamp of the road leading to the housing project in Jaw and of a number of dirt roads in Block 950 in Askar and Block 960 in Jaw, the opening of an access to Askar’s Industrial Area from King Hamad Highway to Road 5027 aiming to alleviate congestion along the Intersection of Askar’s traffic signal; especially that caused by trucks.
Al Tamimi also requested the implementation of a storm water drainage network in both areas.
Al Khayyat directed the concerned engineers at the Ministry to look into the possibility of putting all applications into effect, upon obtaining approval of other concerned service entities and allocating the needed budget.
